In 2003/3 moods in pictures was part of the development of VRcoaster, a technique first installed in the family coaster "Galaxie Express".
The main concept is to add a synchronous motion ride film to a standard coaster ride.

One might ask "so why don't you use a motion platform?".
In fact we could, but riding a coaster is a completely different experience. Real wind and real movement instead of initial forces only.
And from a park marketing point of view, a coaster is something the audience can see as a massive installation making them "wanna-ride".

So what is the advantage of a VRCoaster?
Because of it is media driven, we can improve the ride experience.
In 2003 we proved that we can build a thrill ride experience on a standard coaster.
Rolls, loopings, extreme drops....all of this is experienced by the audience, even if it is not represented on the track.

Advantages of media based coasters
- changeable content, make a redesign or attraction update without changing the hardware and ride
- multiple ride experiences can be switched, even by the audience if needed
- exchangeable advertising (e.g. riding a city with advertising banners)
- corporate event theming
- scale the ride itself, e.g. riding the track twice or more but with just one expanded ride in the media. The audience will experience one long ride not recognizing that they passed the station twice). Smaller indoor coasters can be build!

The system takes care of the different track speeds in each vehicle as well as loading and thermal speed issues.
